Frances Gallardo (1984, Puerto Rico) received an MFA in Studio Art from Cornell University and a BFA in Drawing and Humanities from the University of Puerto Rico.
She has exhibited in venues such as the Museum of Latin American Art (Los Angeles), Perez Art Museum (Miami), Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña (San Juan) and the KUMU Art Museum (Tallinn). She has participated in numerous residencies, including Latin American Roaming Art (Panama City), Caribbean Linked (Oranjestad), The Center for Book Arts (New York) and La Practica, Beta-Local (San Juan). Her work has been featured in Small Axe, Art Nexus and Frescos: Puerto Rican Artists Under 35.
Upcoming projects include ‘Line to Line,’ MTA Arts & Design ‘Percent for Art’ public art commission in Mount Vernon, NY and ‘Puerto Rico Plural’, new permanent collection exhibition at Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (San Juan). Her work is represented by Lucy García Arte Contemporáneo (Santo Domingo) where Gallardo will present her first solo exhibition at the gallery this coming October.
